Wild life in the Backyard

Dan spotted a robin's nest in our tree. It was fun to watch them grow!

Although when they took flight I did not have my camera, so I missed taking their picture as they flew off! So instead I have the other wild life in our back yard....

Memorial Weekend Camping

Our camping trip begins with, "I can make it through there...."

Oops, guess not. Misjudged the weight in the trailer... :) Got to love the optimism!

You got to wonder why most guys hunt with their "buddies." I think it is so one can always pull the other out of messes! Scott, Dan and Devin go to work! Scott pulled our truck and trailer through the puddle to the other side!

The Hollowell's relaxing by the fire, playing games and eating somores. Burnt marshmellows aren't as good as I remember.

Put our tent up and there was no cover, guess we will be gazing at the stars. But what if it rains? "Oh, it won't rain..." famous last words. Around midnight I smacked Dan and said, "It's raining........" So out we went and put the tarp over the tent. It rained ALL night!

Our camping crew. At the top of the mountain. It was so beautiful. This is the area the guys go hunting, so it is nice to be able to see where they go to fill our freezers! This is up by Idaho City.

Aren't they adorable? It is so nice when they are happy with each other! Theysurvived a whole weekend with out their friends, and cell phones! Success!

Okay this is actually the top of the mountain. We found snow, and of course they couldn't resist playing in it! Stuck again!

Devin kicking up the snow himself! The weekend was great even though we got stuck, rained on, and okay, Morgan and I got lost. Made a wrong turn and oops, lost the pack! Obviously we survived and didn't die by the hand of Bigfoot or starvation. Next time her and I need to do a little less singing and pay attention. Ha. Actually Morgan's great memory helped us get back! Man glad she got that memory thing from her dad and not me!

Time to pack up! Great couple of days! Beautiful weather, and the rain made for a great ride the next day!

He played well and learned alot, although his team didn't do too well.

He loves to make those three point shots! I'm not that great of a photographer to catch those.

His team got the best sportsmanship award! Way to go guys!

Dance Festival 2009

Okay this was before Prom but I just forgot to blog!

Here is Jenna with some girls in the ward. They had to be down at the Taco Bell Arena in the morning. They did a humanitarian project and then spent the rest of the day practicing for the big night. Devin had AAU so that came first so he missed the first part of the day!

Li Wen's knee was good enough to participate. Well maybe he just didn't tell his doctor. He is so good about jumping in and participating! He had a great time and did an awesome job. It's nice just having him next door so we can still see him and experience all these fun things with him!

Jenna and her partner! They did so awesome! She was so cute, they all were! The unfortunate thing is that Devin was on was side of the gym and Jenna was on the other side. Donna, my sister-in-law went to the other side and got these great shots!

Here's Devin and his partner. When Devin and Jenna came home from the first practice they showed me the dance and it was so fun! But as time progressed Devin was certain he was not going to participate. I told him you just can't come home and get your mom excited and then say you're not going to do it. Well they needed boys, and he begrudgingly (is that a word?) participated. A good sport he was and did a fabulous job! I am so proud of him and Jenna(and Li Wen)! Doesn't it look like he's looking for his mom? Let's just pretend he is! :)

Here's the entire group. This was the Meridian Regional Dance Festival so there were at least 6 or 7 stakes. Every dance was different and they all did an awesome job! It was fun seeing kids from other stakes that we knew! Afterwards they had a big dance that they all got to attend(even Morgan, yes I know she's not 14 but she had fun too!)

The finale dance the kids were together having a great time! A time they all will remember even if they don't want to remember right now! HA!

It's Prom Time!

My "asian son," as he calls him self looks quite dapper!

His date Kim, looked beautiful! This is Jenna's good friend. They went to Red Robin for dinner than danced the nite away, okay danced as much as kids dance these days. :)
